Military Heritage on parade at Hogmoor Inclosure today. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great day - especially our Ranger Joe who was manning the sweet rations!

Ken enjoyed the beautiful and cool weather in the Bordon Inclosure today with his friends at his annual Teddy Bears Picnic.

This year is our third year running Bug Day at Hogmoor Inclosure and this year definitely did not disappoint. The Backyard Bug Experience brought along their ‘family’ to show, tell and in some cases touch!

It’s Duck Race Day! Thank you to everyone who has sponsored a duck and to our local Businesses who have joined in the fun.

This evening was our last Junior Rangers session until September and part of the activities was the presentation of the John Muir Award certificates. The John Muir Award is a national programme which encourages everyone to get outside and this year our DVT chair Paul also received his certificate.

Hogmoor Inclosure has retained its Green Flag status for the forth year running! The Green Flag is an international standard for parks and green spaces. Our Community Ranger Julie headed up to a rather warm Wimbledon to collect the plaque.

DVT are managing partners with The Land Trust for Hogmoor Inclosure and each year there is a managing partner conference and prize giving. This year we were delighted to win not only the ‘most accessible site’ but also our Community Ranger Julie was crowned the Land Trust Ranger If The Year!

Such a busy, hot and fun day at the Lindford Village Fete. Ken especially enjoyed the fan in his inflatable duck costume!

We have had a great day joining and hosting South Downs National Parks Discover Your Heaths event at Hogmoor Inclosure.

It may be Fathers Day but we walked the farthest! It was the Beacon For Peace charity walk in Tilford today and Community Ranger Julie and Chair Of Trustees Paul enjoyed the rather tropical temperatures as they and almost 2000 others took on the walk.

Our Local Nature Reserve Junior Rangers enjoyed some pond dipping during this evenings session.

After a week of rain we were very lucky with the weather for our annual Blessing Of The Bower event on top of the WallDown Scheduled Ancient Monument. The children of Woodlea Primary Schools Rabbit Class did a fantastic job building the bower in the morning and definitely earnt their cakes as a reward!

We were joined for work experience this week by two Oakmoor students. The students experienced the joys of H&S risk assessment, scientific study and river fly testing.

A great week with two Oakmoor students enjoying the Ranger Life on their work experience. Risk assessments and paperwork not the most fun element but water testing and riverfly surveys much more fun!

A very well attended AGM for us this evening with a round up of the year that was and then a fascinating presentation on the role of the vet team at Marwell Zoo.

Our May Junior Ranger sessions have involved searching for bones in owl pellets and trying to reconstruct a whole vole skeleton.

The early bird …. hears the dawn chorus and gets a full English cooked over the fire. Once a year is more than enough times to be getting in to Hogmoor at 4am!

We had a wonderful day at the annual Oakhanger May Fayre. Ken was reunited with a family member in the beer tent and doesn’t really remember much of the afternoon!
